Pull up your freakin' pants!

(Not my pic, I borrowed it)
Okay, how many of you does this "fashion statement" annoy? I have no desire to know what kind of underwear the guy I just passed in the Wal-Mart parking lot is wearing. Um..."under-wear"? As in, UNDER your clothing?
What is up with this? There are actually places that are making this illegal. I hope Natchez hurries up. Of course, there is a good side to this. I don't imagine they can run from the police very fast with their pants around their ankles!
I'm not too sure what the deal is with pants so far down.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest son does a similar thing. He began wearing black skinny jeans some time back, (his dad bought them, not me).
He was with me for the summer, so I did his washing. He has one pair of skinny jeans the are so small, he could never pull them up close to the waist. The funny part is the belt. I asked him why he needs a belt, because they don't fit anyway. But, as I understand from his complaint after one of his shirts shrank, the shirt has to cover the belt that is worn - with the pants - about in the center or below the center, depending on the occasion, of his rump.
Also, he and his twin sister enjoy cutting holes in their jeans. I informed their father, who seemed so surprised.
I'm told, that this is not a white gang thing. But, low, low riding skinny jeans on boys does have affiliation, since all his friends wear the same things. One main point for the group, is that they really hate the gay/straight identity placed upon boys their age. They also embrace their sexuality at the same time.
If I find an example of this look, I'll send you a link.
My son has done roughly the same thing for the past year.
ReplyDeleteUnless the child really doesn't care, they'll soon grow out of it.
True. The son with the skinny jeans got a couple pair of khakis for school this year.
ReplyDeletehmm.
